How To Make
A Matcha Latte (Hot/Cold)
Would you like a gentle energy boost for the day? Matcha latte can help!
As you may know, matcha contains more caffeine than regular green tea, but in much smaller amounts than an average coffee. And inside matcha, there's another element called theanine that works with caffeine for a more gentle energy boost, without the ‘caffeine jitters’ that can be associated with drinking coffee.
So, let's check out how to make a matcha latte. It's easy!
Ingredients:
- 1-2 scoops matcha green tea powder (1 scoop= 1/2 tsp)
- 3 tbsp hot water (80°C is ideal)
- 250-300ml milk (Choose your own option)
- 3-4 Ice cubes (if you make an icy one)
- some sugar or honey (optional)
Instruction:
Hot Matcha Latte
- Sift 1-2 scoops of matcha powder in a mug/glass
- Add hot water to it and mix it until no clumps
- Use a saucepan to warm the milk (if you have a french press, you can froth milk with it.)
- Slowly pour the warm milk into your "matcha espresso"
- (Note: as real matcha can't be dissolved, you may see some powder settling.)
Ice Matcha Latte
- Sift 1-2 scoops of matcha powder in a cup
- Add hot water to it and mix it until no clumps
- Put ice cubes and milk to a glass
- Slowly pour the prepared matcha to the glass
- (Note: as real matcha can't be dissolved, you may see some powder settling.)
Enjoy your matcha latte!
